    Description

You are purchasing dehydrated sourdough bread starter flakes that my mother bought in 1945 from a very famous shop in San Francisco, which is still open to this day. The shop verified that they had been feeding it daily for 60yrs at their shop, and that it was passed on to them from a old women in town that had been baking bread with the starter as far back as 1830!!
This age old starter, which has been in my family for over 70yrs and comes with decades of history, and can now belong to you.
Included will be two tablespoons of starter, which is more than enough to get you started. Others never even mention the weight and you only receive a few flakes, which in turn will take several weeks to multiply and start baking.
After using my steps to get you going, you will be ready to start baking in 3 to 4 days. You will receive complete and simple instructions on how to activate your starter along with Mom's two loaf recipe which she has been perfecting for over 70yrs!
A little more about us-Mom and Dad have been married just shy of 70yrs.  Dad is retired Navy and Mom is a 92yo retired teacher. She has maintained this sourdough starter since the day she purchased it over 7 decades ago.  She is still feeding and maintaining it to this day. I, her son, maintain the ebay account for her, but she still answers baking questions that come in to us through the message system. When buying this starter you are supporting a retired teacher. The main reason why she does this is for her love of sourdough and a passion to share with others.
