Vintage very large blue metallic Christmas ornament. Mercury glass?

Description

The ornament features a super large blue glass, probably mercury, although heavier than the usual ornaments. It is in a funky metallic blue with a metal top with hook for hanging. This may have been a display or an ornament meant for a store Christmas tree back in the day. Good condition; no cracks, chips or breaks. Some light surface wear due to age, fingerprints, dimples, lumps, imperfections, glass flaws from production mainly. I took pics of some flaws but due to reflection of the glass was an issue so expect that from this type of glass. The top metal piece with hook has age dirt, light pitting and rust. Appropriate for age and use. There is also a string attached; as found. Over 7" but over 8" with hook. Cannot get exact since it's a sphere.
